Disable Dimensions
by nwrenger
Server owners who want to stop players from reaching custom dimensions can use Disable Dimensions, a server-side mod that blocks dimension entry.
What it does
Disable Dimensions intercepts the known methods that send a player into a dimension, such as Nether and End portals and other entry paths, and returns the player immediately when a dimension is disabled. Each dimension is enabled or disabled separately, and a dimension can carry optional conditions that override its status when they are true. The mod is intended mainly for server administrators, and its messages shown to players can be customized.
The config panel is opened with a command and is usable only by a logged-in server operator, while the same settings can also be changed with config commands from the server console. Translated text is available in the supported languages. The mod is built to be event-driven, so a few rare transitions may need manual cleanup, and players may see behavior that differs from what they expect. Required dependency: Fabric API. Disable Dimensions is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later and runs on the server, while clients may add it without needing it.
Key features
Blocked dimension entry
Known dimension-entry methods are intercepted, so a disabled dimension sends the player back at once.
Per-dimension conditions
Optional conditions can enable or disable travel to a dimension after a set time or in a given gamemode.
Custom dimensions
A custom dimension added through a data pack or mod can be blocked from the config panel as a new entry.
In-game config panel
An operator opens the panel with a command and edits dimensions and messages without editing files.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Server administrators who want to limit dimension travel on a multiplayer server. Single-player players and clients have no need to configure it.
How it compares
Toggle dimensions is server required and client optional, works on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.21.9 – 26.2, and is not open source under All rights reserved. Dimension Locker is a client and server mod under the MIT License, open source, for 1.19.2 – 1.21.4, so every player needs it. Per-Dimension Game Rules is server-side only, not open source, and covers 1.19.2 – 1.21.1.
