Improved Happy Ghast changes how the Happy Ghast mob behaves, making it faster, smaller and quieter, and adds ways to bring it back after it is lost.

What it does

Players can turn a Happy Ghast into a faster, smaller and silenced mount through right-clicking it while holding certain items in the main hand. A confirmation appears as particles and a subtle sound cue. Other changes add damage alerts for the ghast and a way to summon it back using items in survival. Riders stay on the ghast when it moves underwater, instead of being forced to dismount.

A control panel opens after a data pack or mod is added to a world, and it lets server owners manage the improvements. Reverting a change means repeating the same steps and choosing the original state. The mod requires Fabric API on Fabric. Improved Happy Ghast is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later, and its source code and issue tracker are public. Feature requests and pull requests are accepted on GitHub.

Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, plus a data pack, across 11 release versions. Snapshot builds are published too. The mod is server required, while the client is optional, so players may join without it.
