Damage Numbers
by Mel1x
Damage Numbers shows floating damage values above hit targets in the world, with configurable styling for players who want to read combat at a glance.
What it does
When an entity takes damage, a number appears at the hit location and drifts upward before fading. Each value can be styled by damage range, so small hits and large hits look different. Solid colors and directional gradients are both available, and custom TTF or OTF fonts can replace the default typeface.
Scale, outline, lifetime, animation and spawn radius are all adjustable, and an optional setting can show the source of the damage. Built-in presets provide ready-made looks to start from. The settings screen in Mod Menu shows live previews as values are changed, and the mod adds an entry to its in-game settings. Fabric API and Mod Menu are both required, and the mod is released under the MIT License as open source. Bundled fonts keep their own licenses in META-INF/licenses/damage-numbers/.
Key features
Damage ranges and styles
Separate styles can be assigned to different damage ranges, so a heavy blow can use another color or size than a light one.
Colors and gradients
Numbers can use a solid color or a directional gradient, set independently for each style.
Custom fonts
TTF and OTF font files can be loaded to replace the default number typeface.
Live settings preview
The Mod Menu settings screen shows the numbers as options are adjusted, before any change is saved.

Streaming and recording
Creators can choose a style that stands out on camera, using custom fonts and outlines.
Who it’s for: Players who want clearer damage feedback in combat, and creators who record fights and want the numbers to be readable on camera.
