Custom Cosmetics
by spidrone
Custom Cosmetics lets a server owner define cosmetic looks for players, which appear on their characters through resource packs.
What it does
Players see the cosmetics they are given on their characters, and changes show up for everyone online. Server owners control the set per server, choosing models and textures for each cosmetic. The mod ships with a small handful of built cosmetics meant to be expanded upon, and each category can be filled with more.
Cosmetics are configured in the server-cosmetics.json file under core/cosmetics, and several cosmetic packs can be uploaded at once through include.txt files. The run cosmetics inject command gets new cosmetics started. Resource packs are the means of adding content, and the mod works with Support Resource Packs and Support Addon Mods so addon mods can integrate their own cosmetics.
The mod is published for Forge and NeoForge across 12 release versions, 1.20.1 – 1.21.11. It is needed on the client and server, so the server and every player need it. The code is under All rights reserved, and it is not open source.
