Crawling Chaos

by LambdaLuke87

Crawling Chaos adds a bug-themed biome, its insect mobs, a boss and a set of armor and tools made from materials the biome yields.

FabricClient and serverGNU Affero General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.21.4 – 1.21.5

What it does

The mod revives an older Anti Plants Virus concept and expands it for the modern game, with new content centered on oversized insects and a plant-infecting virus. Bugs and insects spawn across the world and in the new biome called Bug Forest, where carrion-loving insects also appear in forests, plains, jungles and swamps.

Crawling Chaos requires Fabric API and TerraBlender, because TerraBlender is needed for the new biome to generate. The mod runs on both client and server, so the server and every player need it. It is published for Fabric only, with builds for 1.21.4 and 1.21.5, under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 only, and the source code is public.

Key features

  1. Bug Forest biome

A new biome with its own colors, tree type and vegetation, where the mod's bosses and rarer ore spawn.

  2. Bug Oak tree set

A complete set of blocks and objects built from the Bug Oak tree that grows in the Bug Forest.

  3. Ancient Exoskeleton ore

A rarer ore found only in the biome, mined with an iron pickaxe or better to drop Ancient Exoskeleton.

  4. Serupinea and Knight armor

Serupinea and Knight Lining items, and a Knight armor set that upgrades Serupinea armor with an upgrade template.

  5. Giant beetle boss

A boss beetle with 200 lives and knockback resistance that appears only in the new biome.
