FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1

What it does

Clothing added by the mod sits in its own slots, similar to how Trinkets handles accessories, so the pieces change how a character looks without altering combat stats. The mod gives players a new way to customize their character's appearance in the game, and it works with both the Base and Slim player skin models.

Eight clothing selections are included. Royal Mantles can be found in Bastion treasuries, Nostalgic Clothing in plains villages, and Casual Clothing, Fancy Suits and Lumber Clothing are bought from a clothier. Cosmetic Lib must be installed as a required dependency. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Its latest Fabric file is 1.1.0, published 2024-07-02.

Key features

  1. Cosmetic clothing slots

Pieces of clothing occupy their own slots, separate from armor, so they can be worn alongside equipment.

  2. Eight clothing selections

The mod includes eight clothing options to choose from for customizing a character's look.

  3. Base and Slim skin support

The clothing renders correctly on both the Base and Slim player skin models.

  4. Loot and trade sources

Royal Mantles come from bastion treasuries, Nostalgic Clothing from plains villages, and other pieces are bought from a clothier.

Who it’s for: Players who want more visual options for their character, and server owners who want clothing available on a multiplayer server. Both sides need the mod, along with Cosmetic Lib.

How it compares

Full comparison

Armor Cloths is a clothing mod for Fabric 1.19.2 that runs on client and server under All rights reserved, so its code is not open source. Anticitizen is a Fabric mod for 1.20.1 – 1.20.6, also client and server, licensed All rights reserved and not open source. Trinkets Elytra Support is open source under the MIT License, but it targets Fabric and NeoForge for 26.1 – 26.3 and is server-required with an optional client, so it does not match CosmeticAnew's version or environment.
