CorgiLib
by CorgiTaco
Corgi Taco's other mods draw on a shared set of code, and CorgiLib is the library that packages it for players and developers.
What it does
CorgiLib gathers helper code used across Corgi Taco's mods. The features it provides are JSON5 config serialization built on Mojang's codecs, with commented JSON files, commented codecs, a tree generator that reads NBT data, a registry of blending and easing functions for codec-based configs, entity filters, and a registry for villager trades.
The library is needed by sixteen other catalog mods, including Oh The Biomes We've Gone, Enhanced Celestials and Oh The Biomes You'll Go. Installing it on every loader also requires Fabric API as a dependency, so both must be present alongside CorgiLib. Files cover Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for ten release versions across 1.19.2 – 1.21.11, and the mod is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only.
Key features
JSON5 config serialization
Configs are read and written as commented JSON5 files, using Mojang's codecs for the data structure.
Commented codecs
Codecs can carry comments, which helps keep serialized configuration readable for those who edit it by hand.
Trees from NBT
A feature reads tree definitions stored in NBT data, so tree generation can be described without writing code.
Blending and easing registry
A codec registry holds blending and easing functions, making them straightforward to reference from configuration files.
Entity filters and villager trades
Entity filters and a villager trade codec registry give mod authors reusable pieces for selecting entities and defining trades.
