Core Lib API

by sakura-ryoko

Core Lib API is a Fabric library that other mods build on, offering shared startup, configuration and event hooks instead of a set of player features.

FabricClient or server, optionalGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or laterOpen source1.14 – 26.3

What it does

Core Lib API is written as a shared base for mods by sakura-ryoko. It standardizes how a mod initializes, manages its config files and hooks into client, player and server events, so a mod built on it does not have to write that code itself. Server-side use is the main intent, and the library includes GUI support.

The project was forked from the AfkPlus mod and is related to MaLiLib. Its author notes that the library is mainly used by the author's own mods, and that Library API mods are expected to rely on it in future. Files are published for Fabric only, across 47 release versions, and either side can run it while neither needs it. The code is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later and is open source.

Key features

  1. Mod initialization standard

A shared initialization routine gives mods built on the library one consistent startup process.

  2. Config file reading

The library reads and manages the configuration files used by the mods that depend on it.

  3. Event hooks for dependent mods

Hooks are provided for client, player and server events that dependent mods can listen to.

Use cases

Who it’s for: Core Lib API is aimed at mod developers and server owners running mods that depend on it. Players who only want gameplay content will not find features of their own in it.
