Mob Spawner Tweaks
by Prunty
Mob Spawner Tweaks gives Fabric servers and single-player worlds a config file for the main settings of mob spawners, from spawn delay to the nearby mob cap.
What it does
Spawner behaviour can be set without datapacks, command blocks or other workarounds. Each value that controls a spawner is exposed in one configuration file: spawn delay with its minimum and maximum, the number of mobs created per cycle, the spawn range, the player range that activates a spawner, and the maximum number of nearby entities before a spawner pauses. Changing these values lets a farm run faster or slower and lets a survival progression be tuned.
The mod is aimed at survival servers, custom packs and farm balancing, where an administrator wants fixed gameplay rules. Lowering the nearby entity limit can reduce lag caused by overactive spawners, and the same values can slow down mob farms that are too productive. Fabric API is required, and the mod is licensed under the MIT License, so it is not open source in the sense of publishing its source under an open license. Files target 1.21 – 1.21.11, with 1.0.0+mc1.21.11 for 1.21.11 as the latest Fabric build, published on 2026-02-15. Either side can run it, and neither needs it.
Key features
Spawn delay limits
Minimum and maximum spawn delay are set separately, so the wait between spawner cycles can be narrowed or widened.
Spawn count and range
The number of mobs spawned per cycle and the area around a spawner where they appear are both adjustable.
Activation and mob cap
The player range that activates a spawner and the maximum nearby entities before it pauses can each be changed.
Single config file
All adjustable spawner settings sit in one simple configuration file instead of being spread across several places.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
1.21.x12 of 12 versions with builds

How it compares
Spawn Radar is client and server, open source under the MIT License, and published for 1.21.10 – 1.21.11, so it is a different kind of tool that serves both sides. SpawnerHUD is client-side only, not open source and under the MIT License, covering 1.21.8 – 1.21.11, so it only changes what a player sees. Trial Cooldown is server-side only, open source under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 only, and was built for 1.21 alone.
