CombatEffects
CombatEffects replaces and extends the visual particles that appear during fights, from charged bow shots to damage numbers, for Fabric on 1.21.6 – 1.21.8.
What it does
Charging bows and tridents show blue particles, and projectile throws or shots release directional shockwave particles. Critical hits draw reworked spark effects, and a potion cloud appears where a thrown potion breaks on a solid block. Damage numbers use a font modeled on the one in Minecraft Dungeons, and healing shows a glowing ring around the entity that gains health. Sprinting leaves cloud particles, freezing shows snowflakes, and weakness shows purple clouds.
Breaking another entity's shield on cooldown releases a large burst of shield particles. Entity trails can be defined through data-driven JSON files in a resource pack, and trail entities can be registered for any type in the minecraft:impact projectiles tag. Each effect can be switched on or off in the mod's config, which requires MidnightLib. CombatEffects is client-side only, so servers run without it, and it is released under All rights reserved; the source code is public.
