Cobblemon - CobbleRogue

by Pixelcite

CobbleRogue is a Fabric server-side mod that turns a Cobblemon world into a roguelike run, where a fainted Pokemon is permanently lost.

FabricServer-side onlyMIT License1.21.1 – 1.21.5

What it does

Each run starts with a randomized starter chosen from a pick list of three. When a Pokemon faints in battle it is permadead and cannot be accessed again, so the party is rebuilt as the run continues. Item drops are rolled per encounter and per defeated Pokemon, following a roguelike pattern inspired by PokeRogue and similar Pokemon roguelike fan projects.

A configurable final stand mechanic can return a fainted Pokemon with a chance instead of losing it outright. Rewards are random, and the mod adds commands such as cobblerogue givereward and cobblerogue restartrun confirm for server owners. Mega Showdown support adds Mythic rarity drops when that optional dependency is present. Rewards from command sources are not affected.

The mod needs Cobblemon and Fabric Language Kotlin. It is released under the MIT License, is not open source, and is published for Fabric across five game versions, 1.21.1 – 1.21.5, with 1.3 for 1.21.5 as the latest file. Only the server needs it, so players join without installing anything.

Key features

  1. Permadeath in battle

A Pokemon that faints is permanently removed from the run and cannot be reached again.

  2. Randomized starter pick

A new run offers a random starter from a list of three, and a party wipe can trigger a new choice.

  3. Per-encounter item drops

Roguelike-style item drops are rolled for each encounter and each defeated Pokemon.

  4. Final Stand option

With the setting enabled, a fainted Pokemon can return with a chance rather than being lost.

  5. Mega Showdown rewards

When Mega Showdown is installed, Mythic rarity drops become available as rewards.
