Cobblemon Capture Border

by tmetcalfe89

Cobblemon Capture Border is a minigame in which the world border starts tiny and grows each time a player captures a new Pokémon.

FabricForgeServer required, client optionalMIT License1.19.2 – 1.20.1

What it does

The border begins at a small size and expands as players catch new Pokémon in Cobblemon, so progress in the capture game sets how much of the world is open. The logic borrows from the Cobblemon Counter side mod to track capture totals and tweak how the border grows. A datapack by EpicBuilderHD on PlanetMinecraft supplied the starting setup. Both Cobblemon and Cobblemon Counter are required dependencies, and the mod is published for Fabric and Forge for 1.20.1, with 1.19.2 also listed among its game versions.

Key features

  1. Border that grows with captures

The world border starts small and expands each time a player catches a new Pokémon.

  2. Experience-level pacing

Border growth is also tied to the experience level players gain, so expansion follows play over time.

  3. Counter-driven growth

Capture totals from Cobblemon Counter decide when the border grows, keeping the rule consistent across the server.

Questions

Does Cobblemon Capture Border need to be installed on the client?

Only the server needs it to run the border rules, while a player's client may leave the mod out and still join.

Which dependencies does Cobblemon Capture Border require?

Cobblemon and Cobblemon Counter are both required, so both must be installed alongside the mod.

What the author says

I took this datapack by EpicBuilderHD on PlanetMinecraft - which starts you off with a tiny world border, and expands it every time you gain an experience level - and used the new logic present in my mod Cobblemon Counter to tweak it and make the world border grow every time you capture a new Pokemon.
