Cobblemon Analyzer

by the_number_two

Cobblemon Analyzer adds a Genome Analyzer and a Survey Lens that show a brief reading of a wild Pokémon's IVs before a player commits to a catch.

FabricClient and serverAll rights reserved1.21.1

What it does

The analyzer item gives a short description of a wild Pokémon's individual values, the 1-3 IVs, in place of the raw numbers. The reading is scaled to the number of that species the player has caught and registered, much like the Pokédex. Only Pokémon the player has actually seen or scanned can be checked.

A Bygone Tablet is needed to start. It is rarely found in gimmighoul ruins chests, in ancient cities and at certain archaeology sites. The Genome Analyzer comes restored from the tablet in its default state, and it needs four thunder stones to be charged. The charge is used up as scans are made, so the analyzer has to be recharged as it runs low.

The mod is for Cobblemon players who want to preview a wild Pokémon's stats before fighting or capturing it. It runs on the client and the server, so both need it. Files are published for Fabric and 1.21.1 only, with 1.7.3-1.1.1 as the latest build, and the mod is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. It was first published on 2025-11-30 and last updated on 2026-02-08.

Key features

  1. IV reading

Shows a short description of a wild Pokémon's 1-3 IVs instead of exact values.

  2. Scaling with the Pokédex

The reading becomes more detailed as the number of registered catches for a species grows.

  3. Seen or scanned only

A Pokémon can be checked only after it has been seen or scanned in the world.

  4. Survey Lens upgrade path

The Genome Analyzer is a direct upgrade of the Survey Lens, which is far easier to acquire and works as the entry tool.

PvP Analyzer Mod is open source under the MIT License and targets Fabric 1.21.4, so it does not cover the 1.21.1 version this mod uses. R Cobblemon Companion is a client-side only Fabric mod, all rights reserved, published for 1.21.1 – 1.21.11, so it runs without any server install. Hidden Ability Spawns [Cobblemon] is server-side only, open source under GPL 3.0 or later, and published for 1.21.1, so only the server needs it.

Questions

Does Cobblemon Analyzer need to be installed on the server?

Yes. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

Why does the Genome Analyzer need thunder stones?

The analyzer needs a charge to scan, and the charge is restored by using four thunder stones. Its charge is used up as Pokémon are checked.

Can a Pokémon be scanned before it has been seen?

No. Only Pokémon that have been seen or scanned can be checked with the analyzer.
