Cinematic Smoothness lets players tune the camera's cinematic mode, with adjustable smoothness, letterbox bars and optional HUD and crosshair hiding.

What it does

The mod replaces vanilla cinematic mode and extends it with a settings menu. Camera drag can be set from 0% to 100%, and an extended range down to -100% gives sharper, more responsive movement, while a 200% setting allows very slow sweeping shots. Settings are saved between sessions, and a built-in reset button restores the defaults.

Letterboxing can be toggled in two modes, placed behind the HUD or covering it. A subtle field-of-view tightening narrows the view for cleaner focal shots, and the crosshair and block selection outline can be hidden for recordings. The settings screen opens with F4, and both the cinematic camera toggle and the settings screen can be rebound under the Miscellaneous category in the Controls options.

The mod is published for Fabric only, on the 1.21.11 and 26.1 branches, with files for 26.1.2 as the latest. It is client-side only, so servers need nothing, and Fabric API is required. Mod Menu is optional. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the source and issue tracker are public.
