Custom Item Durability Bar (CIDB)
by XeronioDiR
Custom Item Durability Bar lets players recolor the durability bar shown on items, using presets or a config screen to pick the colors, flicker speed and text style.
What it does
The bar recolors only the durability indicator on items. Colors are chosen in the config screen, which offers presets and a set of selectable colors, so players do not need to write their own bar. The colors do not rotate through hue, and a yellow step can be added to the list. Colors can also change over time, the flicker speed of the bar is adjustable, and the bar can be drawn as a gradient.
The durability text can be shown with short scales or as a percent, and the mod does not alter text styles. Required dependency: Fabric API, and the mod uses YetAnotherConfigLib 0.1.0 for its settings screen. Only the player's game needs it, and servers run without it. Files target 1.21 – 1.21.10 on Fabric, with 0.2.1 for 1.21.10 as the latest beta file, released under the Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike 4.0 license, which is not open source. Source code and an issue tracker are public.

Use cases
Custom item readability
Players who find the default bar hard to read can switch to a color that stands out against their inventory setup.
Who it’s for: Players who want to change how item durability looks on their own client, without writing custom styles.
How it compares
Gray Locator Bar is server required with client optional, under the MIT License, and targets 1.21.11, so it does not overlap with CIDB's 1.21 – 1.21.10 range. Legacy Durability Bar is client-side only, not open source, under All rights reserved, and targets 26.2. Vital Edge is client-side only and open source under the MIT License, with files for 1.21.1, which is inside the range CIDB supports.
