Give me a voice

by Felina_Catness

Give me a voice adds a voice to the Minecraft character, with sounds for hurt and death, and a set of commands to choose the character's voice.

ForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

The Forge mod gives the player character a voice. A player picks a character setup with a run command, such as man or woman, and the chosen voice then plays the hurt and die sounds during combat. A separate command removes the voice again. The mod is for the 1.20.1 game version only, and it runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it.

The mod suits roleplaying servers, where a voiced character can help players tell characters apart. Its author plans more features for later releases. The Forge file 1.0.1 for 1.20.1 was published on 2024-08-11, and the mod is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.

Key features

  1. Voice setup command

A run command sets the character voice, with the options man or woman, so each player can pick a voice.

  2. Hurt and death sounds

The chosen voice plays a sound when the character is hurt or dies in an attack.

  3. Voice removal

A dedicated command removes the voice from the character.

  4. Roleplaying use

Voiced characters suit roleplaying servers, where players want their characters to sound distinct.
