Champions

by crystalx0375

With Champions, some hostile mobs spawn as ranked elites with boosted stats, extra abilities and better loot, and a colored particle shows which ones they are.

What it does

Most mobs spawn as ordinary creatures, but some become champions. Each champion receives a rank, and higher ranks are rarer and offer stronger stats, more abilities and superior loot. Champions are marked with colored particles and a dedicated health bar, so they can be spotted before a fight.

Each champion can also carry affixes that change how it fights. Examples include homing projectiles that slow anyone they hit, periodic clouds that harm the ground beneath a target, a shield that recharges itself, and reflection of a small share of damage back to the attacker. Ranks, spawn chances, colors and affixes are set in the mod's configuration files, and players can disable certain affixes.

Champions is a Fabric port and needs Fabric API. Cloth Config API and Mod Menu are optional. Installation covers the server and each player's game. Files cover 1.20 – 1.21.1 across seven release versions, and the latest Fabric file is 1.0.9v-1.21.1 for 1.21.1, published on 2026-08-13. It is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later and is open source.

Key features

  1. Ranked elite mobs

Mobs are assigned a rank at spawn, and each rank raises health, damage and other stats.

  2. Affixes with distinct effects

Affixes such as Arctic, Hasty, Molten and Paralyzing each add a fixed behavior, for example a slow, a speed boost or a stun chance.

  3. Visual identification

Champions are shown with colored particles and a special health bar, making elites simple to pick out in a crowd.

  4. Configurable spawns and affixes

Spawn chances, colors and the affixes a mob may receive are set through the configuration files, and certain affixes can be turned off.
