Chainmail armor craft
Chainmail armor craft makes chainmail armor craftable in Minecraft, a set of pieces that vanilla does not let players build.
What it does
Chainmail armor craft adds a crafting recipe for chainmail armor. In vanilla, chainmail pieces can only be found in the world, and the mod lets players build them at a crafting table from materials they collect. The recipe is meant to be balanced, so crafting the armor takes real resources rather than appearing as a reward from random loot.
The mod runs on the server, so players join without installing anything. It requires Fabric API on Fabric. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with builds covering 1.14.4 – 1.21.8 across 14 release versions. The project is All rights reserved and is not open source, and it has a public issue tracker.
Key features
Craftable chainmail pieces
Chainmail helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots can be crafted instead of relying on random loot drops.
Balanced recipe
The crafting recipe for chainmail armor is set to a balanced cost in materials, so the armor is a deliberate choice.
Lightweight install
The mod is small and adds only the recipes and items it needs, keeping modpacks simple to maintain.
Older version support
Builds exist for many earlier releases, so the recipe can be used in worlds that predate newer versions.
