Cataclysm Smithing

by Cwortex

Cataclysm Smithing adds a progression-based smithing table to the Cataclysm boss content, so players craft gear in stages as they advance.

ForgeNeoForgeServer required, client optionalAll rights reserved1.16.5 – 1.21.1

What it does

The mod builds on the boss-driven content of L_Ender's Cataclysm by adding a smithing table whose recipes open up as a player progresses. Crafting follows a set order, so each stage of gear depends on the materials and bosses reached before it. Recipes are shown in JEI, REI and EMI, which lets players check the requirements for each piece without leaving the game.

The server must run the mod, while players may add it to see the recipe screens locally; a player without it can still join. Files exist for Forge and NeoForge across five release versions, 1.16.5 – 1.21.1, with 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 the latest builds. The mod is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Progression-based smithing

The smithing table opens recipes in stages, so gear is crafted in a set order as the player advances.

  2. Recipe display support

Recipes are available to JEI, REI and EMI for viewing requirements inside the game.

  3. Boss-linked materials

Smithing ingredients come from the bosses and materials added alongside Cataclysm content.

Use cases

Cataclysm progression

Players working through Cataclysm bosses use the table to craft gear that matches how far they have advanced.

Server progression

Server owners who want gear gated by progress can run the mod on the server, with players optionally adding it for recipe screens.

Who it’s for: Players and server owners who use L_Ender's Cataclysm and want its gear crafted through a staged smithing table.

How it compares

Full comparison

Cataclysm Smithing needs L_Ender's Cataclysm, which runs as client and server on Forge and NeoForge for 1.19.2 – 1.21.5 and is not open source. Cataclysm Summons is client and server on Forge and NeoForge for 1.19.2 – 1.20.1 and is open source under the MIT License, so it covers a different part of the Cataclysm content.
