Campfried Egg
by Blyrium
Campfried Egg lets a player cook an egg on a campfire into a fried egg, a food item that restores hunger and saturation.
What it does
Placing an egg on a lit campfire starts the cooking process, which takes about 30 seconds. The result is a fried egg, and the cooking also grants a small amount of experience points. A fried egg restores 4 hunger points (2 drumsticks) and 0.55 saturation, and it stacks up to 64 in a single slot.
Throwing eggs at mobs and baking cakes do not change, since the mod only adds the fried egg route. Installation needs Fabric API, which the author tested with version 0.91.0+1.20.1. The mod runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it, and it is released under the MIT License as open source code. Files exist for 1.20 and 1.20.1, with 1.0.1+1.20.1 as the latest build for 1.20.1, and the author notes that it should technically work on other 1.20.x versions.
The author plans to update the mod for other Minecraft versions, and the license allows anyone to adapt the code for their own builds.

Use cases
Survival cooking
Players who want a simple egg dish can cook eggs on a campfire they already have, without a furnace or extra materials.
Server food additions
Server owners can add the fried egg as a food option for players, since the mod runs on both client and server.
Who it’s for: Players who want a small food addition for survival play on Fabric, and server owners who run 1.20 or 1.20.1 and want a simple cooking option.
How it compares
Additional Saturation is client and server, open source under the MIT License, and covers 1.20.1 – 1.20.4 on Fabric, so it reaches a few versions beyond this mod. SwiftFlame is server-side only and not open source, with files for 1.20.1 – 1.20.6 on Fabric, so players need nothing installed. Fried Egg Mod is also server-side only and MIT licensed, but it targets only 1.21.7 on Fabric.
