Campfire Torches Plus

by spacegoat3

Campfire Torches Plus lets players light a torch from a campfire: right-clicking a lit campfire with a stick turns the stick into a torch.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.17 – 1.18.2

What it does

A normal campfire produces a normal torch, and a soul campfire produces a soul torch, so the torch type follows the campfire used. An unlit campfire cannot be used to make torches. Making a torch plays a custom sound effect, and for soul torches the sound of a soul sand block plays alongside it. The sound effects can be turned off in the config, and the number of sticks each torch costs can be changed there too.

The mod supports Cloth Config API, which lets server owners and players change its options from an in-game screen, with a step-by-step guide for configuring Fabric mods with it. Campfire Torches Plus requires Fabric API. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Files cover Minecraft 1.17 – 1.18.2, with 1.1.0 for 1.18.2 as the latest file, released under the MIT License as open source.

Key features

  1. Torches from campfires

Right-clicking a lit campfire with a stick converts the stick into a torch.

  2. Torch type by campfire

A normal campfire gives a normal torch and a soul campfire gives a soul torch, and both campfire types work.

  3. Custom sound effects

Making a torch plays a dedicated sound, and soul torches add the soul sand block sound.

  4. Config options

The stick cost per torch and the sound effects can be changed through the config file or Cloth Config.

Questions

Does Campfire Torches Plus need Fabric API?

Yes. Fabric API is the only required dependency, so it must be installed next to the mod on Fabric.

Does the server need the mod installed?

Yes. Servers that run it need every player to install it too.

Can the torch cost or sounds be changed?

Yes. The number of sticks per torch and the sound effects can be set in the config, and Cloth Config supports the same options in game.

What the author says

For Fabric Mod Loader and 1.17 / 1.17.1 / 1.18 / 1.18.1 versions. This very simple mod adds a new feature that lets you make torches using Campfires. But, hence the name, it also has some extra features.
