Butchery
by MC_jmods
With Butchery installed, killing a mob with the Butcher's Knife leaves a corpse that can then be hung, skinned, cut up and cooked.
What it does
The mod changes how mobs and animals are harvested. Killing a mob with a sword or bow still works, but when the Butcher's Knife is used the mob drops its corpse instead of its normal loot. Sheep drop their corpse as well as their wool. The Butcher enchantment, or any tool or weapon enabled in the config, can produce corpses in the same way.
Corpses are processed in stages. A hanging corpse is drained of blood on a hook, then skinned on a skin rack by dampening it and covering it in salt to obtain leather. The butchers table and hanging corpses yield different cuts of meat, and alternative food outputs can be enabled in the config. Corpses can also be cooked on a rotisserie over a campfire, fed into a mincer for beef or lamb, and turtle shells opened with a hammer.
Butchery is published for Forge and NeoForge only, with files for 1.20.1, 1.21.1, 1.21.2, 1.21.3, 1.21.4, 1.21.8 and 26.1.2. It is client and server, so both the server and every player need it, and it is released under All rights reserved, which means it is not open source. Its Forge file runs on 1.20.1, and the latest NeoForge file is for 1.21.8.
