Burnt + Additions
by pxlbnk
Burnt + Additions lets players set wooden blocks, leaves, grass and trees on fire with flint and steel, and the flames spread to neighboring blocks before leaving charred versions behind.
What it does
Igniting a wooden block with flint and steel starts a smoulder, then a burn that spreads to adjacent blocks. Once the fire goes out, a burnt variant of the block stays in its place. Occasionally a broken version replaces a block, and breaking it yields charcoal. Solid burning blocks can also drop ash in a setup that includes an extra decoration mod.
The mod also adds a Flint Bow that fires burning arrows, which can ignite targets such as creepers from a distance, and barrels that a player can light by several means. Burnt + Additions requires Cloth Config API and Geckolib, both of which must be installed alongside it. Two other catalog mods, Burnt: Cold Sweat Compat and Burnt X Dynamic Trees compat, depend on it.
The mod is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and works with the client and server environment, so both the server and every player need it. It is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.
Key features
Spreading fire
Ignited wood, leaves and grass smoulder, then burn and spread to neighboring blocks in a chain.

Once a block stops burning, a charred variant remains in its place as a building material.

Use cases
Burning a village
Players set a village alight with flint and steel and leave charred structures behind to explore.
Clearing a forest
Lighting a grove turns its trees into burnt, twisted wood that remains usable as resources.
Who it’s for: Players who want to light wooden structures, trees and grass and keep the charred remains as build material. Server owners who run Fabric, Forge or NeoForge can install it for both sides.

What the author says
We've watched it, played with it, and shouted angrily at it in Minecraft since the early early days. But it's not great, behaves badly, takes things from us and doesn't give back... so what if it could be something better? This is BURNT. A Vanilla fire enhancing mod, if you light it, it will burn... Not disappear…
