Bulk Villager Trading

by bradcarnage

With Bulk Villager Trading, a villager trade window refills its offer after each shift-click, so repeated trades need fewer clicks.

What it does

Normally a player has to click the trade button again for every completed trade. The mod restocks the trade window after a shift-click finishes a trade, so the same offer can be used again without a fresh open of the screen. The author describes it as a light automation similar to a macro, aimed at players who trade large quantities and would otherwise repeat the same click many times.

The change applies only to the player's screen. Servers do not need it; each player installs it for their own game. The author notes it is compatible with most servers, though server administrators may still want to be asked before use. The mod is published for Forge only, because similar Fabric mods already exist, and its files cover 1.20.1, 1.20.2, 1.20.3, 1.20.4, 1.20.5 and 1.20.6. The latest Forge file is 1.0.0 for 1.20.6, released 2024-09-14. The code is open source under the MIT License.

Key features

  1. Shift-click restocking

Shift-clicking a completed trade restocks the trade window so the same offer can be repeated.

  2. Bulk item trading

Players can complete a long run of identical trades without clicking the trade button each time.

  3. Client-only behavior

The restock happens on the player's own screen and does not change how villagers trade on the server.

What the author says

Bulk Villager Trading. Automatically Re-Stocks the trade UI after shift-click. Manually clicking the trade button over and over again can be exhausting, tiring, and downright frustrating and slow.
