Building Wands
by nicguzzo
With Building Wands installed, a player can place a line, plane or cube of blocks in one action, using a wand that comes in four tiers of block limits.
What it does
Building Wands adds wands that place many blocks at once, with a different per-use limit for each tier: 16 blocks for the stone wand, 32 for the iron wand, 64 for the diamond wand and 256 for the netherite wand. The wands offer several placement modes, and the mod is built around them.
In survival, blocks are taken from shulker boxes first. A tool held in the offhand allows blocks to be destroyed as well, and in survival the tool must suit the block, such as an axe for logs and wood or a pickaxe for stone. The blocks-per-XP setting controls experience cost: 0 turns XP consumption off, 2 places two blocks per XP point, and 0.5 costs two XP per block. Architectury API and Cloth Config API are required, and Building Wands is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 25 release versions, 1.16.5 – 26.2. The code is open source under the Apache License 2.0.
Key features
Four wand tiers
Stone, iron, diamond and netherite wands raise the block limit from 16 to 256 per use.
Several placement modes
The wands can be switched between modes that place blocks in different shapes and patterns.
Shulker box supply
In survival, placement draws from shulker boxes in the inventory before using loose blocks.
Offhand tool breaking
With a tool in the offhand, the wand can destroy blocks, and the tool must suit the block type in survival.
Configurable XP cost
The blocks-per-XP value sets how many blocks one experience point pays for, or disables the cost.

Use cases
Large builds in survival
Players who build walls, floors or structures can place many blocks in one action instead of one at a time.
Creative-style building
Players who want faster construction can use the higher tiers to cover large areas quickly.
Who it’s for: Builders and survival players who place or clear large areas of blocks, and server owners who want a controlled block and XP cost for wand use.
