Build Events

by Velizar

Build Events tracks block placements and breaks inside a set area, and it counts them through scoreboard objectives on a Fabric server.

FabricServer-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.17.1 – 26.3

What it does

The mod watches for block placements and breaks within a defined area and records each one as progress toward a build event. Progress is stored in scoreboard objectives, so the sidebar can display it through the normal scoreboard system. Fabric API is required to run it.

Builds can be scored without any client-side install, since players join the server with nothing extra. The mod is server-side only and is open source under the MIT License, with its source code and issue tracker public. Files are published for Fabric across 12 release versions, 1.17.1 – 26.3.

Key features

  1. Area-based tracking

Placements and breaks are counted only within a region the server defines, so activity elsewhere is ignored.

  2. Scoreboard objectives

Each event is stored as a scoreboard objective, so its values can be read by other datapacks and displays.

  3. Sidebar display names

The name shown in the sidebar for an objective can be changed, and an existing objective such as foo place can be reused in place of a new one.

What the author says

This server-side mod allows you to create build events to track the amount of block placements and breaks within an area using scoreboard objectives. /buildevents add foo 3 1 4 1 5 9 both will create two objectives: foo_place and foo_break.
