With Bridging Mod, a player can place a block into an air gap beside, above or below a block they are already standing on, and a crosshair shows where it will land.

What it does

The bridging assist places blocks in gaps in front of, above or below an existing block, even when the target surface is not visible. A crosshair appears when placement is available, and the F3 debug view adds an outline marking the exact position. The outline can also be kept on at all times through the config. The mod works on every axis and stays out of the way when it is not needed; slabs, torches and block alignment are handled so that building off existing blocks behaves as expected.

The mod is intended for singleplayer worlds and small servers whose players agree to it. It is not meant for large networks or servers that prohibit such modifications, and the author states it does not work on Hypixel. It requires Fabric API and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) on Fabric, Quilt, Forge and NeoForge, with Mod Menu optional. The mod is client-side only, so servers do not need it, and it is released under the MIT License as open source. Its files cover game versions 1.17 – 26.3.
