Breaking Place

by FeneGra Labs

With Breaking Place, a block that is broken or placed shows the native destruction particles of the game around its position.

What it does

Breaking Place is a client-side decoration mod that adds block destruction particles when a block is placed. The particle effect is the one Minecraft already uses, so the visual style stays close to the original game. Because the change runs only on the client, a server does not process it and performance on the server side is not affected.

The mod is meant for players who build and want more visible feedback while placing blocks, and it works alongside common optimization and visual mods. Only the client needs it; players join servers without installing anything. Breaking Place runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with files for 1.17 – 26.3 and the MIT License applied to its code, which is not open source. Its latest builds, 2.0.1-beta, are dated 2026-10-08.

Key features

  1. Placement particles

Placing a block triggers the native destruction particle effect around that block's position.

  2. Vanilla-style visuals

The particles come from the game's own particle set, so they match the original look.

  3. No server load

Because it is client-only, the mod adds no work on the server and does not cause lag there.

  4. Works with visual mods

The mod runs next to optimization and visual mods, since its change is limited to the client.
