Bonus Chest+
by lostdoge08
Bonus Chest+ replaces the loot table of the Bonus Chest with a wider set of items, and players who start new worlds often find it useful.
What it does
The Bonus Chest+ data pack swaps the regular bonus chest loot table for a larger pool that keeps the vanilla feel of the starting items. Tools are sorted by weight so wooden and stone axes and swords appear most often, while golden, iron and diamond items turn up less frequently. Golden tools have 50-100% durability and iron tools 15-40%. Food choices are widened from the three standard options, and Bedrock Bonus Chest spawns such as seeds and saplings are added.
The mod ships as a data pack, so it is installed on the server side. Players join the server without installing anything, and the server must run it for the new loot to appear. Bonus Chest+ is published for Fabric, Forge and Quilt across six release versions, 1.20.1 – 1.20.6, and the code is not open source; the author holds all rights reserved. A data pack was tested in a modpack with over 250 mods and reported to work without conflicts.
Key features
Weighted tool pool
Wooden tools and swords are weighted to appear most often, while golden and iron tools appear less often.
Wider food choices
The pool adds more foods than the three in the standard bonus chest, including a golden apple chance.
Bedrock-style spawns
Seeds and saplings from the Bedrock bonus chest can appear, mixed in at lower rates.
Vanilla-feel starting items
Starting items keep close to the vanilla set, so a new world still begins with familiar gear.

Use cases
Starting new worlds
Players who restart survival worlds often can get fresh starting gear each time without the loot repeating.
Who it’s for: Players who begin many survival playthroughs and server owners who want a larger bonus chest pool without adding a full loot mod.
How it compares
No Block Loot works on the server alone, so players need nothing installed, and it is open source under the MIT License with files for 1.20 – 1.20.6. It changes block drops instead of the bonus chest. Loot Table Wand is needed on both sides, is open source under the MIT License and targets 1.20.1 on Fabric and Forge. Epic RPG: Magic Find Loot is needed on the client and the server, is not open source and is built for Forge 1.20.1 only.

What the author says
This Data Pack replaces the regular bonus chest loot table, so it is not compatable with other Mods or Data Packs that replace it! Mods or Data Packs that add to it should be fine though. This Data Pack was tested on a Mod Pack with over 250+ Mods, and it functioned fine. Bonus Chest+ is a simple Data Pack that…
