Blanket is a client-side fix mod that corrects several known Minecraft client bugs and adds some quality-of-life tweaks, released for Fabric and Quilt.
What it does
The mod targets a set of client bugs tracked in the Minecraft bug tracker: an inventory that does not close when a mouse button is pressed, lag when a chat message arrives, and guardian beams that fail to render. The author describes the aim as fixing many client-side problems, with a few quality-of-life changes alongside them. A complete list of the changes is kept in the Config.java file of the source code.
Blanket runs only on the client, so a server does not need it and players can join a server that does not have it installed. Builds exist for Fabric and Quilt across seven release versions, 1.18.1 – 1.20.1, with snapshot builds also published. The current files are 1.1.4 for 1.20.1, released on 2023-08-14. The code is under the MIT License, and the source code and issue tracker are public.
