Better Pickaxe Trims
by Valenn_Ro
With Better Pickaxe Trims, a pickaxe gets a material-based upgrade from a smithing template, and each trim adds its own effect when the tool mines.
What it does
The mod adds a trims smithing template that applies to pickaxes. The chosen material decides the effect: quartz raises the experience gained from ores, emerald gives a chance that an ore yields twice its contents, lapis lazuli makes matching ores glow for two minutes after one is broken, weeping obsidian breaks blocks in a 3x3 area, redstone lets connected ores be chopped in one action, and copper adds durability.
Players who explore and dig can pick the trim that suits their routine. The effects are small and tied to the material, and they mix the smithing template system already in the game with pickaxes made from the usual materials. Architectury API is required, so it must be installed alongside the mod on every loader. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and the latest Fabric and NeoForge builds are 2.0.0 for 26.1.2.
A configuration file in the config folder lets the server or player adjust some of the trim effects. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. The code is not open source and is released as All rights reserved.
