Better Enchantments changes the effects of vanilla enchantments, so tools, armor and enchanted books behave differently once it is installed.

What it does

The mod reworks what existing enchantments do on tools and armor, adjusting the effect each enchantment provides rather than adding new items. Enchanted books are affected as well, so the same changes carry over when books are used. The server must run the mod, while players may add it for the same behavior on their own side. Files exist for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 7 game versions, 1.21.5 – 1.21.11, and the code is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only.

    Existing vanilla enchantments gain adjusted effects instead of being replaced by new enchantments.

    The changed enchantment effects apply to tools and armor, the items where enchantments are most often used.
