Beltborne Lanterns: Accessories Layer
by Shadscure
Beltborne Lanterns: Accessories Layer lets a lantern be worn in the belt slot of the Accessories mod, so players carry light without holding it.
What it does
Beltborne Lanterns: Accessories Layer is a bridge between Beltborne Lanterns and the Accessories API by WispForest. It registers the Beltborne Lanterns items as valid belt accessories, so a lantern can be equipped in the Accessories belt slot and works the way the default belt does. Equipping is synced between client and server, and pressing B toggles the belt state.
Players who want to keep their hands free while exploring, building or fighting can rely on the worn lantern instead of a held one. The light is cast dynamically, and the lantern sways with physics. Other players see the lantern glow too, because the render is shared. Additional accessory slots can be configured, and item tags in datapacks are picked up automatically, with the mod handling slot validation on its own.
Beltborne Lanterns is a required dependency, and the Accessories mod is needed for the belt slot. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Files target 1.21 – 1.21.10 across six release versions, and the latest Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt builds are 1.2.2 for 1.21.10, in the beta channel. The code is open source under the Apache License 2.0.
