BasicHUD

BasicHUD puts a small on-screen panel in the corner of the game, showing frames per second, ping, clicks per second, keystrokes, active potion effects and other stats.
What it does
Real-time FPS, ping and CPS counters sit in a customizable HUD. Keystrokes and active potion effects can be shown alongside them, and the stats display gathers the readings in one place. The panel is configurable: its position can be moved, the text colors can be changed, and a background can be turned on or off. The background can also cycle through RGB, or chroma, colors.
BasicHUD is a client-side mod, so only the player's game needs it and servers run without it. Files are published for Forge 1.8.9 only, with the latest file, 3.6.2, dated 2026-10-12. The source code is released under the MIT License and is open source, and the project has a public issue tracker for reports.
Installation is a matter of putting the file in the mods folder of a Forge 1.8.9 installation. In Prism Launcher the Minecraft 1.8.9 Forge instance is selected and the file is added through the Mods tab, which is reached from the left sidebar with the add button at the top right.
Key features
Live FPS and ping
Frames per second and ping are shown in real time on the HUD, updating while the game runs.
Clicks per second
A CPS counter tracks the player's clicks per second and displays the value beside the other readings.
Keystroke display
The keys the player is pressing appear on screen as they are held, which helps when recording or streaming input.
Potion effect list
Active potion effects are listed on the HUD with the other stats, so timers stay visible during play.
Custom layout and colors
Each element's position and text color can be configured, and the background can be switched on or off, including an RGB chroma setting.
