Arrow Magnet

by TheExiIedFeIIow

Arrow Magnet is a Forge and NeoForge equipment mod that pulls fired arrows back to the player who shot them, using a Curios accessory.

ForgeNeoForgeServer-side onlyMIT License1.20.1

What it does

The mod adds a curio accessory that magnetizes arrows. Arrows fired from bows enchanted with Infinity, and only those from the player wearing the accessory, are drawn back once they land on blocks, so the arrow is not lost after a missed shot. The accessory is placed in a curio slot, and the mod requires Curios API to provide that slot.

The item must be crafted before it can be used, using a core ingredient that serves as the catalyst for the recipe. Once equipped, the function starts with a right-click while the item is held in the main or off hand, so the accessory does not have to be worn for the magnetization to work. Arrows that pass through an entity and keep their form are also collected when the mod is paired with other mods that let arrows remain intact after a hit.

Arrow Magnet is published for Forge and NeoForge, with files for 1.20.1 only. Players join without it, since only the server has to run the mod. The mod is released under the MIT License and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Arrow collection

Infinity-enchanted arrows that land on blocks are pulled back toward the player who fired them.

  2. Curio accessory

The magnet is a curio item that occupies a curio slot and works from there.

  3. Held activation

A right-click while holding the item in the main or off hand starts the magnetization without equipping it.

  4. Lost arrow reduction

Missed shots return their arrows, so the cost of ammunition is not wasted on each miss.

What the author says

Ever tired of different arrow variants (e.g spectral or tipped), vanilla or modded, being incompatible with the infinity enchantment (or, well, simply just not having the infinity enchantment in the first place. That or you're a mending > infinity kind of person)? Well that's what this mod aims to solve, or at least…
