Apple Crates

by Team Jackdaw

Apple Crates adds storage crates in the vanilla wood types that also work as small player shops for trading items.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverGNU General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.19 – 1.21.11

What it does

Each crate holds 29 slots, two more than a chest, and comes in the wood types of the base game. Besides storage, a crate can be set up as a simple shop that trades its stock to other players. Crafting a crate takes three planks and two sticks.

Hoppers can feed a crate from the back to refill its stock; the payment slot cannot be emptied or filled that way. Server operators with command access can turn a crate into a shop with unlimited stock. Fabric files require Fabric API.

The mod runs on client and server and is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across nine release versions, 1.19 – 1.21.11. It is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only.

Key features

  1. Wood-type crates

Crates come in the vanilla wood types, so they match the planks used around them in a build.

  2. 29 storage slots

A crate stores two slots more than a chest while keeping a simple crafting recipe of planks and sticks.

  3. Built-in shop

Any crate can act as a basic shop, with the stock in the crate and a payment slot for buyers.

  4. Hopper restocking

A hopper attached to the back of a crate refills the shop stock automatically, without touching the payment slot.

  5. Unlimited shops

Operators can mark a crate as an unlimited shop through commands, which suits server spawn markets.

What the author says

Apple Crates adds new blocks based on vanilla wood types, in which you can store and trade items! These blocks allow you to store your items. They take 29 slots, two more then chest, but come with the added functionality of being a simple shop as well! Crafting is done with 3 planks and 2 sticks. Simple, easy, and…
