Appetite
by CCr4ft3r
Appetite changes how hunger drains on Forge 1.19.2, so that common actions such as mining, fighting and swimming use up food.
What it does
Appetite adds time-based and event-based exhaustion rules that cost food for actions beyond the vanilla baseline. Breaking and placing blocks, tilling dirt, stripping logs, attacking entities, shooting arrows, blocking attacks, taking damage, climbing, swimming, paddling and freezing in powder snow all count, along with sneaking, walking, jumping and running. Players in creative or spectator mode, and players who are sleeping, are excluded from the drain.
Each rule can be enabled, disabled or tuned in amount and timing. The mod ships three predefined profiles at different difficulty levels, and players can edit a profile or create a custom one. The default HUNGRY profile applies moderate exhaustion across most rules. Frozen food items take effect for a minute and a homonymous potion for two minutes, which adds a further food-related layer. The mod works with other mods through its compatibility options, and the author recommends the Configured mod for editing settings.

What the author says
Have you ever thought that the hunger system of minecraft is too easy? Appetite aims to make your survival experience more challenging - by forcing you to eat more food in relation to what you are doing.
