Apothic-Enchanting

by Shadows-of-Fire

Apothic-Enchanting overhauls the enchanting table on NeoForge, replacing set-and-forget enchanting with a stat-driven system that players tune through bookshelves and blocks placed around the table.

What it does

The mod builds a fuller enchanting system on top of vanilla. Three primary stats, Eterna, Quanta and Arcana, set enchanting strength, randomness and the chance of rare enchantments, while a few secondary stats fine-tune how those primary stats behave. Eterna raises enchantment level cost, Quanta governs how much randomness is involved, and Arcana raises the count of enchantments a player receives and makes rare ones more likely. Primary stats are shown in the table's interface, with the numbers beneath them.

Primary stats come from bookshelves placed in one of 32 valid locations: a ring around the table including the corners, at the same height or one level above, with air between the table and each bookshelf. Other blocks, such as skulls and candles, contribute stats when placed in those same valid locations. Players can also turn on treasure enchantments, such as Mending, so they appear on the table, and use enchantment filters to blacklist specific enchantments. Maximum table level rises to 100 for most enchantments.

Apothic-Enchanting is a module of Apotheosis, which the mod is published alongside. It requires Apothic Attributes and Placebo, and it is used by two other mods, Apotheosis and Immersive Apothic. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. Files exist for 1.21.1 and 26.1.2, with 1.6.4 for 1.21.1 as the latest NeoForge file, and the code is open source under the MIT License.

Key features

  1. Stat-driven enchanting

Eterna, Quanta and Arcana replace fixed table behavior with tunable strength, randomness and rarity.

  2. Bookshelf and block stats

Bookshelves and other blocks such as skulls and candles supply stats when placed in one of 32 valid locations.

  3. Enchanting clues

Clues change how many enchantments show up while a slot is hovered, with typically more clues shown.

  4. Enchantment filters

Filters let a player blacklist chosen enchantments from appearing on the table.
