Ancient Forkways
by Lunakibby
Ancient Forkways lets players upgrade netherite armour along two separate pathways, one built on raw power and one on resilience.
What it does
Two upgrade routes share a common netherite starting point, so a player chooses which kind of protection to build toward. Each armour set keeps its own strengths, and neither path makes the other obsolete. The mod adds a harder step above the usual armour packs for players who want a sharper challenge.
Both Forge and NeoForge builds are published, covering 1.16.5 – 1.21.1 with 6 release versions. Only the client and the server need the mod in the sense that both must run it, and the code is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike 4.0, which means the mod is not open source.
Key features
Two armour pathways
Netherite armour can be upgraded along two distinct routes, each favouring a different style of defence.
Balanced armour sets
Both armour sets stay useful in practical situations, with each one having limits that shape when it is the better choice.
Harder armour tier
A step above typical armour packs, the upgraded pieces are aimed at players seeking a tougher challenge.
