Allium Peripherals
by hugeblank
Allium Peripherals adds two peripheral blocks for CC: Restitched, a survival chat modem and a creative chat modem, that send and receive chat messages for computers.
What it does
Allium offers two peripherals that CC: Restitched can use. The survival chat modem and the creative chat modem work the same way for sending and receiving messages, and the two share a single interface. The chat modem removes the distance limit of wireless messaging, so a computer can send and receive messages anywhere in the world, but a modem only works with the one player it is bound to. The creative chat modem is like the survival version except that it captures messages globally, from every player.
Once a message is captured, a program can read it through the modem's methods. A pattern queue lets a script match incoming text against one or more patterns, and removing a single pattern or clearing the queue is possible. Captured messages come back as a table with the match captures, and the methods return the username and UUID of the bound player so a program knows who sent the message. Scripts can also send a message to the bound player through the same peripheral.
The mod runs in the client and server environment, so both the server and every player need it. It depends on CC: Restitched and Fabric API, and it is published for Fabric only, with files for 1.14.4, 1.16.5, 1.17.1, 1.18.2 and 1.19. The latest file is 0.3.4 for 1.19, released on the beta channel. The code is open source under the MIT License.
