Alarm Mod

by Romanfoks

Alarm Mod adds an RGB siren block, lit by the Veil rendering library, that signals hazards in factories and technical builds.

What it does

The siren is a working electrical device for Create, wired into a Power Grid network. Four connection points sit on the mounting face: one each for red, green and blue, plus a common ground. Colour comes out of how the wire is connected, a channel resistor sets the brightness, and a channel level follows the voltage across a rheostat. The siren mounts on a face and aims its light away from that surface.

Its light is rendered with Veil, which draws an ambient glow plus two sweeping coloured light cones. Lapis, milled dust and redstone are reduced into a Redstone Acid and combined with iron to produce a Redstone Charged Iron, and nine of those craft the block. Create, Create: Power Grid and Veil are required, and Sable is an optional dependency. The mod is for NeoForge 1.21.1, runs on client and server, and is open source under the MIT License.

Key features

  1. RGB siren block

A siren that displays colour and brightness set through its wiring.

  2. Analog brightness

Each colour channel follows the voltage across a rheostat, so the output can be dimmed smoothly.

  3. Directional mounting

The siren attaches to a face and points its light away from the surface it sits on.

  4. Veil light rendering

Ambient glow and two sweeping coloured light cones, drawn by the Veil engine.

Use cases

Factory hazard signalling

A siren on a production line can show a colour for each alarm state, driven by Create machinery.

Base defence

Sirens placed around a technical base give visual warnings when a sensor or circuit trips.

Who it’s for: Players building Create factories or technical bases on NeoForge 1.21.1 who want visible hazard signalling. Server owners need it installed alongside the players' clients.
