Air Gap Fix makes fences, walls, signs, banners, player heads, end rods and item frames connect and update correctly when they are placed.

What it does

Blocks such as fences, walls, glass panes and bars normally fail to connect when placed in a line, so the gaps stay open. The mod corrects that, and it also covers signs, banners, player heads, end rods, lightning rods and item frames. Placing a block while looking straight at it works as expected once the mod is installed. Air Gap Fix is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with files for 1.20.2 – 26.3. The server is required and the client is optional, and the mod is not open source; it is released under All rights reserved.

  1. Connecting fences and walls

    Fences, walls, glass panes and bars link to neighboring blocks of the same kind when placed side by side.

  2. Signs, banners and heads

    Signs, banners, player heads, end rods, lightning rods and item frames are corrected so they attach and update properly.

  3. Item frame updates

    Removing an item frame now updates the block it was attached to, so a block no longer stays extended after the frame is gone.

What the author says

This datapack simply makes the block connect when a sign, banner or other wall block is placed on it. This fixes the "air gap" that forms when normally placing these blocks, which always looks a bit odd, the blocks just floating there. ❗You have to be looking straight at the block when placing, otherwise it wont work!
