Better Walls

Better Walls fixes how fences, walls, panes, bars and nether fences connect to one another, and adds connections for wall signs.
What it does
Blocks of these types normally join only to their own kind, so a fence meeting a wall or a pane stops short. Better Walls changes those connection rules so that fences join walls, nether fences and panes or bars where they meet. The result is a continuous line in builds that mix these blocks, such as a courtyard or a castle perimeter.
The mod runs on the server alone, so players join without installing anything. Server owners install it on a Fabric or Quilt server; it is open source under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 only, and source code and an issue tracker are linked from its public pages. Files target 1.20 – 26.2, with 3.5.3 for 26.2 as the latest file on both loaders, published 2026-05-14.

Fence and wall joins
Fences connect to adjacent walls, so a wall can end cleanly at a fence line without a gap.
Nether fence joins
Nether fences link to fences and walls, matching the way the other fence types connect.
Pane and bar joins
Glass panes and iron bars join to fences of every type, including nether fences.
Wall sign connections
Wall signs attach to the connecting blocks that they are mounted on, so they sit flush with the wall.
