Air Combo
by Omni_4O4
Air Combo, a Forge mod by Omni_4O4, gives the player extra upward and directional boosts that chain together during airborne fights.
What it does
Critical hits send the player upward, and the boost can be steered in four directions: forward, backward, left and right. A second upward boost is triggered by shifting after a crit, so a fight can be extended mid-air. Each direction and boost can be switched on or off, letting server owners choose which movement options their players get.
A new enemy drops a book that increases aerial combo capabilities, tying the movement system into progression. Animations are synced across multiplayer, so other players see the same boosts. The mod is published for Forge only, across three game versions: 1.19.2, 1.19.4 and 1.20.1, with 1.2.0 for 1.20.1 as the latest file. Client and server both need it, and the code is not open source; it is released under All rights reserved.
Key features
Upward crit boost
Landing a critical hit launches the player upward, adding height to the fight after each crit.
Four-direction air movement
Air movement can be aimed forward, backward, left or right, giving players control over where they travel while airborne.
Shift-triggered second boost
Shifting after a crit triggers a second upward boost, which allows an aerial combo to continue.
Configurable movement options
Config commands turn the crit mechanic, backward, side, front and upward boosts on or off by number.

Use cases
Aerial combat on a server
Server owners can enable only the boosts they want, so a multiplayer server keeps a chosen set of air movements.
Progression through an enemy drop
The book dropped by the new enemy raises aerial combo capabilities, giving players a reason to hunt it.
Who it’s for: Players who want aerial combat with more height and movement during fights, and server owners who want to set which air movements their players can use.
How it compares
Mid-Air mod is also a Forge mod for 1.20.1 with the same client and server environment, under All rights reserved. Combo System is a Forge mod for 1.20.1 that needs both sides, but it is released under the MIT License, so its code is shared under different terms. No Elytra Boost is server-side only and covers 1.20.1 under the MIT License, so players join without installing anything.
