AFK Dim Names dims the name tags of players who have gone idle on a server, so others can see at a glance who is away.

What it does

When a player is marked as AFK, the mod changes the color of that player's name so it stands apart from active players. The change is applied on the server, and the mod works with the Detect AFK Players add-on, which supplies the idle detection. Shown names appear above heads and in the server list.

Server administrators can configure the look of AFK names, including the color and optional prefix or suffix text, and can turn off collision between AFK players. Files cover 1.13 – 1.21.8 across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and the license is MIT License, so the code is open source. Only the server requires the mod; a client may add it without needing it.

Dims player names when they go AFK. This works by adding them to a team called afk. If players are on a team already when they go AFK, they will not be added to the AFK team. By default, only the name color is changed. This is to give you the freedom to decide what you do and don't need!
