AE2: Automatic Requester

by StephanMeijer

AE2: Automatic Requester lets an Applied Energistics 2 network start crafting jobs only when a set of conditions is met, such as keeping a stock level or converting surplus items.

NeoForgeClient and serverGNU General Public License v3.0 or laterOpen source1.21.1

What it does

Rules are built from one or more conditions that must all hold before a crafting job begins. Each condition compares a resource amount with a number using an operator such as equal or greater-or-equal, so a rule can keep at least 1000 iron ingots in storage or craft glass only while sand is plentiful. Several conditions can be chained in one rule to describe a production chain instead of a single item.

The mod is for players whose networks already run automated crafting and who want that crafting to react to stock levels. It needs Applied Energistics 2 to be installed next to it. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Files target NeoForge for 1.21.1 only, and the project is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later.

Key features

  1. Conditional auto-crafting

A crafting job is queued only after every condition in its rule evaluates to true, instead of running on a fixed schedule.

  2. Comparison operators

Conditions use operators such as equal and greater-or-equal to compare a stored amount against a target count.

  3. Stock maintenance

A rule can keep a minimum number of an item in the network by crafting more whenever the count falls below the target.

  4. Overflow conversion

Surplus resources above a threshold can be turned into another item, for example cobblestone into stone.

Use cases

Keeping a minimum stock

A rule holds at least 1000 iron ingots in the network and crafts 64 more whenever the count drops under that level.

Crafting from abundant input

Glass is crafted only while the sand supply is high, so the rule does not drain scarce materials.

Who it’s for: Players and server owners who run Applied Energistics 2 networks with automated crafting and want job triggers tied to resource levels.
