Advanced Repulsion Systems

by ModrinthArchives

Advanced Repulsion Systems adds projector blocks for Forge that project forcefields in several shapes, powered by IC2 energy.

ForgeClient and serverGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only1.2.5 – 1.7.10

What it does

Each projector creates a forcefield of a set shape. Depending on the projector type, the forcefield can take the shape of a cube or sphere around the block, a tube running both ways, a flat panel set ahead of the block, or a single line. A wrench changes which direction the projector faces, and a reactor containment field projector is available for nuclear reactor setups.

The forcefields are powered by IC2's energy system. A Forcefield Core is needed to get started, and the core is connected to a power source. The mod requires Immibis Core and Industrial Craft, and all projector types need a projector base. A cooldown after each activation or deactivation stops rapid toggling. Advanced Repulsion Systems runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. It is published for Forge only, across 11 release versions 1.2.5 – 1.7.10, under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and it is not open source.

Key features

  1. Shaped forcefields

Area, tube, plate and line projectors each create a forcefield of a different shape, with a dome upgrade limiting the tube to its upper half.

  2. Camouflage upgrade

Placing one next to a projector makes the projector look like another supported vanilla block.

  3. Block cutter upgrade

Placing one next to a projector lets it break blocks in the way of its forcefield.

  4. Range and dome upgrades

A range upgrade lets projectors sit further from their linked core, and a dome upgrade limits an area tube projector to half of its forcefield.

Questions

Does Advanced Repulsion Systems need Immibis Core?

Yes. Immibis Core and Industrial Craft are both required dependencies, so both must be installed alongside the mod.

Does the server need the mod installed?

Yes. Installation covers the server and each player's game.

How are the forcefields powered?

They draw energy through IC2's energy system, so a Forcefield Core must be connected to a power source.

What the author says

This mod adds forcefields powered by IC2's energy system - EU. To get started with this, you will need a Forcefield Core. Connect the core to a source of power. Note that 1 EU = 10 forcepower.
