Advanced Cauldron

by Marew

Advanced Cauldron turns the vanilla cauldron into a potion store, brewing station and dye vat for Fabric, adding heat-based brewing, arrow tipping and colored water.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

A cauldron can hold up to 3 levels of a potion and keeps the potion type, so players pour potions in, store them and extract them later with glass bottles. A cauldron placed over a heat source such as a campfire, lava, magma or fire starts a brew that finishes on its own, with colored particle effects, and blaze powder is no longer needed for that step. Adding dye to water creates colored water, and several dyes can be mixed to blend colors or to dip leather armor. The palette covers 16 base dyes and blends any two into a new shade.

Right-clicking a potion cauldron with arrows tips them in bulk, and the cauldron level sets how many arrows are tipped, up to 16 by default and configurable. Tipped arrows can be crafted without a brewing stand, and modded arrow types can join via a tag-based registry.

Installation needs Fabric API, and the mod must be installed on both the client and the server. It is released under the MIT License, is open source, and is published for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 with 1.0.4 for 1.21.1 as the latest file. Cloth Config and Mod Menu are optional and provide in-game configuration.

Key features

  1. Potion storage in cauldrons

Cauldrons hold up to 3 levels of a potion and keep its type, so potions can be stored in them and taken out with glass bottles.

  2. Heat-based brewing

A cauldron over a campfire, lava, magma or fire brews automatically and shows colored particle effects while it finishes.

  3. Dye and RGB color mixing

Water can be dyed with 16 colors, mixed together with full RGB blending, and used to dip leather armor.

  4. Bulk arrow tipping

A cauldron tips many arrows at once, with the amount set by its level and craftable tipped arrows that need no brewing stand.
