Accurate Spears

by MasUN0

Accurate Spears gives the spear weapons in Minecraft a jab attack on left click and a charge attack on right click, with damage tied to the speed of the attacker.

FabricClient and serverCC0 1.0 UniversalOpen source1.21.8 – 1.21.10

What it does

Spears are held in the hand and used through two attacks. A quick jab is triggered by left click, while holding right click builds a charge attack. The damage a spear deals depends on how fast the attacker is moving relative to the victim, so a spear used while running hits harder than one held still. Holding a spear for too long stops the dismount and the knockback, and the spear is no longer held.

Heavier spear tiers such as netherite last longer than lighter ones like gold and wood. The mod targets Fabric only, for the game versions 1.21.8, 1.21.9 and 1.21.10, and its files are released under CC0 1.0 Universal, so the code is open source. Client and server both need it, so the server and every player must run the same build.

Key features

  1. Jab attack

A left click performs a quick jab with the held spear.

  2. Charge attack

Holding right click charges a stronger attack, which is released when the button goes up.

  3. Speed-based damage

Damage scales with how fast the attacker moves relative to the target, so timing matters in combat.

  4. Durability by tier

Netherite spears last longer than gold or wood spears, giving each material a practical difference.

Use cases

Melee combat on servers

Who it’s for: Players who want spears with directional attacks and a damage model that rewards movement, and server owners who want the same weapon behavior for all members.
