YUNG's Better End Island reworks the central End island, adding a redesigned spawn platform, portal and obsidian towers, with a dragon that waits to appear until a player nears the tower.

What it does

The mod changes the middle of the End island. Obsidian towers, End gateways, the spawn platform and the central portal are redrawn compared with vanilla. The dragon does not appear on arrival. It is called once a player walks toward the tower at the island's center.

Four bedrock blocks sit on the tower floor, one in each wing, and end crystals placed on them start a new fight. The vanilla crystal spots beside the portal still work for players who expect them. The dragon's behavior is left as it was. Only the server needs the mod, since players do not install it. To apply the changes to an existing world, run /end island reset from inside the End. The command resets the fight and swaps older portals and towers for the new ones. Deleting the End dimension files alone does not do this, and the command must still be run. If the portal ends up under the island, /end island reset true places it back on the surface.

Published builds for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge cover 11 release versions, with files for 1.18.2 – 26.1.2. The source is open under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only.
